This year, to celebrate the World Wellness Weekend, I invite you to join me for a Kirtan in the Park.
Kirtan is a call and response style of singing that helps to uplift the mind, open the heart and bring inner peace. Kirtan combines music and mantra — words and sounds that vibrate at the highest level of awareness. It is an effortless and joyful way to meditate. You simply let the music and mantra do the work for you.
Chanting can be quite therapeutic for those who suffer from stress, anxiety, or for those who find seated meditation difficult.
You don’t need to be a good singer, a practitioner of yoga, or a follower of any religion or set of beliefs to experience the power of kirtan. An open mind is all that is required.
