Hatuma Lime Half Marathon

Health, Running

Into its 4th decade now and still going strong, the Hatuma Half Marathon is still very much a highlight on the local sporting calendar.  From humble beginnings back in 1980 when a group of running enthusiast friends got together and took on the challenge to create a running event here in Central Hawke’s Bay.  Since then the event has continued to grow and has built up a reputation for being a well-organized event to be shared with family & friends event in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Waipukurau Racecourse. This picturesque venue is able to accommodate ample off-street parking and has picnic areas and facilities.  The course takes in the entire circumference of Lake Whatumā, going in a clockwise direction. This mostly flat course, with a 5km stretch of undulations (around the 10-15km mark), provides for a very pleasant and scenic event that continues to attract both local and outside participants.

Enter as an individual or as a social team in either the walking or running sections for either the Half Marathon or 10km options.
All entrants are required to check in on arrival.  (Teams compete as a relay, each completing one or more sections of the course. Max 4 people)
